About MEDIBLOCKAn open-source design solution for rapid construction of ICU wards MEDIBLOCK by CRAFTER SOLUTIONS for COVID-19 Pandemic.
In many countries quarantine hospital beds are falling short than the requirement. We need new ICU facilities to be constructed rapidly for fastest implementation. In this situation to help the world, Crafter Solutions came up with rapid construction designing idea that is powered by pre-fabricated, modular construction methodology. The design is non-profitable and open source so that anyone can modify, adjust, scale it up as per need. So we present you ‘MediBlock’ ICU modules. |
Built from 20feet shipping containers these can be connected together with aluminium/steel structures and EPS wall panels connectors will work like connecting corridors for HCW (healthcare workers). One ‘MediBlock’ can accommodate two patients. Inside every unit all needed medical equipments are available as per WHO and NCDC (India) guidelines specially for COVID-19 isolation facility.
Technical Details |
‘MediBlock’ can be quickly fabricated, assembled in workshops and transported through air, land or waterways to the sites. As the connecting structures are made of easily available materials, sourcing the construction Materials are also easy and can be collected from warehouses around.
ICU wards can be constructed with ‘MediBlock’ in different flexible configs. I.E. (11 x 11) for 240 beds or (5 x 5) for 48 beds, etc. A 240 bed ‘MediBlock’ ward can take just 7 days to construct including ‘MediBlock’ unit fabrication, assembly, transportation and site erection with lesser than conventional manpower requirement. As ‘MediBlock’ isolation wards are made of sturdy materials and sealed with sealants, so creating negative pressure areas are easy inside. Also, it will reduce leakage and protect people from rain and wind. ‘MediBlock’ modules and corridors can get insulated or non-insulated depending on site weather conditions. |
Our Future Plans with 'MediBlock' |
Crafter Solutions is now looking for governmental and non-governmental agencies to bring this concept to life so that this can be implemented asap in the current emergency situation of COVID-19 outbreak.
Interested fabricators, solution providers, item and equipment suppliers, feel free to contact us for technical white paper of ‘MediBlock’. Crafter Solutions will be happy to partner with them with design consultancy and technical support for mass production of ‘MediBlocks’. |
